Job Description

The head bartender is responsible for quality control, creative direction and development of the cocktail/liquor program in collaboration with senior leadership. We’re looking for a passionate team leader who exemplifies our hospitality standards and empowers their team to deliver a high quality 360 experience with humor and efficiency. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cocktail menu, including classic and innovative menu items to be updated as needed
  • Train and develop all bartenders, ensuring they are proficient in crafting cocktails according to industry standards
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all menu items offered in the restaurant, including basic ingredients, allergens, techniques, etc.
  • Oversee inventory levels, minimize waste, accurately track stock
  • Manage selection, storage, organization and ordering of all bar inventory
  • Oversee administrative tasks including staff scheduling & EOD reports
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards and act as part of front of house team to maintain space and service stations accordingly
  • Set hospitality standard through example by providing prompt, warm service to all guests
  • Ensure constant communication with staff, management and kitchen to anticipate guests needs and ensure efficient service
  • Organize orders, manage cash and credit card transactions. Demonstrate speed and accuracy when using the POS system during service.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a bartender at a New York fine dining restaurant or high volume craft cocktail bar with a track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Strong spirits knowledge and craft cocktail experience
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification
  • Experience with Resy +  Toast strongly preferred
  • Understanding of basic financial principles and the ability to analyze sales data
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Adaptability and creative problem solving in a constantly evolving environment
  • Passion for hospitality and collaboration
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflict
  • Ability to receive feedback in a positive manner and implement necessary changes 
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and results driven
  • Full time flexible late night, weekend and holiday availability

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include standing and working for long periods of time and frequent movement during work hours. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level.
