RN - Medsurg, Ortho at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital summary:

The RN - Medsurg, Ortho provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing orthopedic and spine surgeries, as well as those experiencing strokes and general medical issues. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while maintaining high standards of practice and coordinating activities among assigned staff. Required qualifications include a nursing degree, a current Georgia RN license, BLS certification, and advanced specialty certifications may be preferred.

Location: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital

Schedule: Day Shift 3 12's (7am - 7pm)

Our Ortho Unit is recognized as a comprehensive Stroke Center and a Spine Center of Excellence. Staff will receive specific education related to these designations.

The patient population includes ortho and spine surgeries, hip/joint surgeries, stroke, and general medical.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
