Overview
What You'll Do:
The Associate Director, Investment Insights and Optimizations, will sit directly with our clients, Warner Brothers Discovery (in Washington Park). They will function as an extension of the WBD team and be fully integrated into the day-to-day work at the client. In addition to working directly with the client team, the Associate Director will work closely with the Starcom WBD account team.
The ideal candidate will have a background having been in digital and video investment roles and will have knowledge and mastery of the Linear and Digital media buying processes as a baseline foundation for understanding how WBD chooses to prioritize and allocate its O&O inventory. They will be responsible for both qualitative and quantitative tasks in an effort to make continual improvements to the effectiveness of the O&O campaigns. They need to understand the function and placement of promotional inventory on Linear, Streaming and Digital properties and how that differs from paid media. They need to understand the dynamic nature of media inventory and the marketplace forces that can cause quick change and a need to pivot tactics.
WBD has a sophisticated and detailed process for allocating and optimizing their O&O inventory across Linear, Digital Video & Display properties. They own and manage several tech systems to allocate this inventory across their four business units (US Networks, Streaming, Theatricals & Gaming).
The Associate Director will be responsible for understanding the process and execution of the O&O campaigns. They will work with the WBD Client team in their efforts to drive revenue and growth across the WBD business units. Along with contributing to the O&O allocation process at WBD, the Associate Director will develop campaign post analysis across all business units and inventory with key takeaways and recommendations for campaigns both in flight (for optimization) and moving forward (for future planning). Insights will be reported on a weekly basis as well as summed up in a quarterly report.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize background and expertise of Digital and Video investment to make data-driven recommendations for our investment teams
  • Work directly with the WBD O&O team to help them manage their campaigns
  • Create weekly campaign level insights (e.g. the top performing nets, inventory, creative, etc. vs. last year, vs. views in app) and recommendations for optimizations and future campaigns (all inventory, linear + digital)
  • Create quarterly summaries for all WBD Business Units regarding campaign performance and overall audience analysis
  • Manage the WBD O&O team Associate
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably with a concentration in marketing, advertising, communications, business, sociology, or consumer insights
  • Strong understanding of the TV/Video and Digital landscape (Linear TV, FEP, VOD, OTT, Mobile, Connected TV, Addressable, Display)
  • 5+ years of media investment experience with progressive levels of responsibility
  • 3+ years of working directly with clients at a leadership level
  • 2+ years of team management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Problem-solver, with ability to move quickly between tasks, and think clearly under pressure
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with heavy focus on Excel
  • Experience utilizing various media tools

The benefits offerings listed are available to U.S. based employees, are reviewed on an annual basis, and are governed by the terms of the applicable plan documents.
Compensation Range: $95,950- $150,995 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
