Job Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist! In this role, you'll play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care while performing and reporting analyses from various specimen sources. Benefit from a generous $12,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an expected level of productivity and manage multiple work processes efficiently.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner while handling specimens properly.
  • Confirm identification and suitability of specimens with attention to detail.
  • Utilize appropriate accessioning procedures and recognize discrepancies in patient orders.
  • Resolve and report problems, performing instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Replenish reagents and supplies as per established protocols.
  • Follow established reporting procedures, navigating multiple computer applications as needed.
  • Assist in training and orientation of new employees and participate in educational activities to stay current in the field.
  • Ensure successful completion of initial and ongoing competency exams.

This position operates in a clinical environment and you will be accountable for meeting specific obligations while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.

Position Details:

As a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will work from 3 PM to 11:30 PM and will be eligible for shift differentials and overtime. You'll support a 600+ bed Level I trauma and comprehensive stroke center, working in various laboratory areas such as blood bank, toxicology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology. With our high-volume specimens, you will conduct routine life-saving tests and have access to state-of-the-art automated equipment. Opportunities for learning flow cytometry will also be available.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in medical technology or relevant life sciences.
  • At least four years of relevant experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Preferred: ASCP certification.
