Job Description

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux System Administrator to join our team in the Laurel, Maryland location.

Become an integral part of a diverse teams that delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. It is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration. 
  • Configure and manage LINUX and Solaris operating systems.
  • Installs/loads operating systems software.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components.
  • Implement operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Shall have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required. Additional five (5) years’ experience may be substituted for degree.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding networking components is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active/current TS/SCI with polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting, light work up to 20 lbs., reaching, repetitive motions, sedentary work, walking, working with data, ability to handle stress & work under pressure, ability to use MS Office, ability to use a PC, analytical or critical thinking skills, interpersonal & people skills, leadership skills, listening skills, multi-tasking ability, oral & written communication skills, organizational skills.
