Job Description
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for ensuring that incoming stock is unloaded and stored correctly and safely in the warehouse. This position is responsible for filling orders by reviewing orders, picking materials from the shelves, wrapping, and loading on to the delivery truck. Warehouse Associates are responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled.

  • Receives, tracks, and maintains working inventory levels in the warehouse to ensure that all orders can be filled and delivered as needed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures incoming stock is unloaded and stored correctly and safely in the warehouse.
  • Fills orders by reviewing orders, picking materials from the shelves, wrapping, and loading on to the delivery truck according to standards.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas using pallet jack, forklift, or other equipment.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Utilizes docks, warehouse layout and route truck loading patterns and other techniques to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Follows all safety procedures and safely operates equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
  • Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
  • Assists with special projects.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year of prior warehouse experience preferred
  • Prior experience with pallet jacks and forklifts preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
  • Ability to problem solve, analyze information, and demonstrate professionalism
  • Must display sophisticated writing and interpersonal communication skills
Working conditions
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, heat or exposure to chemicals
  • This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
  • Occasional travel is required. Travel is primarily local (in the Treasure Valley) during the business day.
Physical requirements
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as forklifts and jacks where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
