Job Description

We are seeking an Account Executive, Plumbing and HVAC Supplies for Ferguson Supply , a division of Standard-Madison Electric based in Grand Rapids, MI. The Account Executive, Plumbing and HVAC Supplies will be responsible for cultivating and developing long-standing relationships with potential and existing customers. You will leverage your knowledge and expertise within the plumbing and HVAC space to consult with customers on current and future projects. You will develop and deliver the value proposition of Ferguson Supply and different our service and expertise within the market.

What You Will Do:

Manage Key Accounts: Oversee and nurture relationships with strategically important customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales quotas and account objectives.

Client Communication: Regularly interact with customers, addressing their needs and resolving issues promptly. Proactively identity opportunities to develop strategic partnerships and expand business.

Identify Opportunities: Recognize and pursue new business opportunities to increase sales and expand our customer base.

Liaison Role: Act as the primary point of contact between key customers and internal teams.

Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt strategies accordingly.

Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and forecasts on sales performance and account status.

Subject Matter Expert: Partner with internal teams to conduct customer product demonstrations, present technical information/updates and prepare sales proposals.

What you Bring:

  • 5+ years of successful progressive outside sales experience within the plumbing and HVAC verticals and directly to contractors
  • Experience and background working within the Construction vertical
  • Strong understanding of industrial, commercial, and institutional markets for plumbing and heating products
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with urgency
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP and CRM systems
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel locally across the Grand Rapid area
  • Must be authorized to work for Sonepar in the United States without sponsorship
