We're seeking a creative, self-motivated, and collaborative Business Analyst to contribute to the Dreamscape Learn (DSL) team. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by reviewing, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating business systems and user needs. You will serve as the liaison between DSL and the technology team(s). In addition, you will design solutions and write requirements specifications, develop and execute test plans, and work with technical staff to build and implement the technology solution.

Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University, merging the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry's best cinematic storytelling. The partnership allows students to enter immersive learning activities where they engage in virtual worlds, problem solve and apply what they’ve learned with the help of cutting-edge technology and captivating storytelling.

Essential Duties:

• Manages projects for DSL by preparing and maintaining implementation plans, managing project issues and ensuring project tasks are completed.

• Facilitates decision-making by communicating across project teams and functional areas; elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

• Applies approved project methods, standards and processes to reduce total cost of ownership by applying best practices.

• Serves as liaison between the functional project team and the technology support organization.

• Writes business process documentation.

• Consults with stakeholders to conduct requirements-gathering and solution design to address business needs. Provides information to project/development teams so that solutions meet end-users’ needs.

• Provides expertise in software testing design and coordinates performance of tests.

• Supports functional users in developing reports.

• Supports end-users through on-call support and problem resolution, as needed.

• Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

• Evidence of a strong technical background.

• Evidence of experience in building out user journeys.

• Demonstrated experience in technical documentation, including forms design and procedure development.

• Demonstrated experience in detailed requirements gathering.

• Demonstrated knowledge of higher education administrative systems and related business principles.

• Demonstrated knowledge of automated and manual management information systems.

• Demonstrated knowledge of PeopleSoft products, tools, and methods.

• Demonstrated ability to create conceptual solutions that are technically feasible.

• Demonstrated ability to clearly explain concrete processes and abstract concepts both orally and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively as a member of a team.

Salary & Benefits:

$70,000 - $75,000 per year; DOE

EdPlus at ASU

Working Environment: 

You will work on the ASU campus in Tempe and at the cutting-edge and collaborative workspace at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The Center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required, along with the ability to clearly communicate in English to perform essential duties.

EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy. (This is NOT a fully remote position.)
