We currently seek an experienced Director of Development Operations to join our Fundraising department:

  • Develop departmental goals, budget & objectives and establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations.
  • Develop and recommend department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
  • Work with the Vice President to select, hire, train and supervise development officers and support staff; initiates disciplinary action, including terminations; carries out annual performance appraisal of employees recommending promotions, raises, etc.
  • Orient and train volunteers from community groups, corporations, hospital staff, etc. taking part in the hospital's fundraising activities; acts as liaison between volunteers and hospital.
  • Direct the incorporation of a planned giving program through estate planning, bequests, trusts, etc. Develops rapport with existing and potential donors to discuss estate planning options with financial advisors, accountants and attorneys.


We require:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge is essential
  • Minimum of 5+ years of fundraising/development experience in operations and team management, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting or in a Development Department.
  • Proficiency with donor databases and financial management systems is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, seeing projects to completion on deadline and with quality.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
