At Evercrisp, innovation, collaboration, and a deep commitment to advancing human health drive our mission to develop first-in-class therapeutics.Position Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced antibody/protein engineer with strong background in yeast display to lead miniprotein discovery and optimization at Evercrisp. This individual will implement streamlined workflows from devising discovery strategy to identifying leads, perform biophysical and biochemical characterizations of recombinant miniproteins and enzymes, and present key data and updates to cross functional teams and senior leadership for identifying lead therapeutic candidates. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess a strong blend of leadership and technical skills.Roles and Responsibilities

Lead miniprotein discovery and engineering campaigns conducted internally and externally with CROs with clear strategy and defined objectives.Collaborate with the Computational Biology team for in silico miniprotein library designs for miniprotein discovery and engineering.Establish a streamlined workflow for miniprotein discovery by yeast display.Develop and execute high-throughput screens to identify early hits by ELISA and flow cytometry/FACS.Characterize miniproteins using biophysical (e.g., BLI, DSF, DLS) and biochemical methods (e.g., activity assays).Analyze datasets from biophysical, analytical, and in vitro functional characterizations to rank-order hits.Collaborate closely with analytical team to implement developability assessment of lead candidates.Update progress and results to senior leadership team.Qualifications

Ph.D. with minimum of 5 years of industry experience in protein engineering with a proven track record of delivering therapeutic molecules to IND-enabling stage.Extensive hands-on experience in yeast display library design and construction, FACS sorting, and high-throughput screens for hit-generation.Proven experience in affinity maturation and sequence optimization for improving function and/or developability.Strong background in biologics drug discovery and development in industry.Excellent communication and collaborative skills.Strong problem-solving skills with creative ideas.Experience in NGS-based antibody or miniprotein discovery is a plus.Previous experience in supervising direct report(s) is a plus.What We Offer:At Evercrisp Biosciences, you’ll be part of a passionate team working at the forefront of genetic medicine.
