General Summary:

Adventhealth is seeking an outstanding full-time APRN or PA-C to join our thriving Palliative Care team under the supervision of the Physician(s) who act as collaborative practitioners in providing great patient-centered care to patients with serious illnesses. This role will function primarily in the outpatient setting and is responsible for:

Conducts physical examinations and manages complex symptoms for patients, including pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety, and depression, as well as goals of care discussions for palliative care patients in a clinical setting.

Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.

Monitors the patients course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist, as needed

Collaborates with physicians and social workers as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and their families

Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times, as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

 

Schedule Details:

Monday through Friday

Rotating weekends and holidays

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.

Desire to learn and improve skillset

Strong communication skills

Ability to reflect on ones own strengths and weaknesses

Motivated to grow as a provider Ability to handle elevated emotions and dying patients

Comfort with a fast-growing department

Required Education/Experience:

Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies

Experienced APP in Palliative care, ICU, hospitalist, or Oncology Required Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license

Current, valid DEA license

ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) or NCCPA Certification

Current BLS and ACLS required
