Summary The maintenance parts coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of parts and materials necessary for maintenance operations. This role requires a proactive individual who will manage inventory, track parts usage, place orders, and coordinate with vendors and maintenance teams to ensure operational efficiency. This position will report to the maintenance manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, ensuring that essential items are in stock and readily available for maintenance needs.
- Regularly audit and organize inventory to optimize storage and prevent stockouts.
- Track parts usage, monitor back orders, and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Manage returns and exchanges of damaged or incorrect parts.
- Keep detailed logs of purchase orders, invoices, and shipping receipts for budgeting and audit purposes.
- Ensure that all parts and materials comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications - Must be able to read mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics.
- High School Diploma or higher preferred, but not required.
- Candidates are preferred who offer a year of experience in manufacturing/maintenance.
Physical Demands - Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Mathematical Skills Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
Work Environment - Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS - Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.
