GENERAL MANAGER/HOUSEHOLD GOODS MOVING & STORAGEOversee all aspects of a facility responsible for storing and transporting personal belongings, including hiring staff, managing inventory, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining operational efficiency, and adhering to safety regulations, all while maximizing profitability within budget constraints.This position is an excellent opportunity for growth. Operations Management:Oversee daily operations of the moving and storage facility, including receiving, storing, and delivering household goods.Manage staff scheduling, assigning tasks to movers and warehouse personnel.Monitor and maintain inventory of storage units, packing materials, and moving equipment.Ensure proper loading and unloading procedures are followed to prevent damage to customer belongings.Coordinate with customer service to address inquiries, schedule moves, and resolve customer concerns.Financial Management:Develop and manage the facility budget, tracking expenses and revenue to optimize profitability.Analyze sales data and identify opportunities to increase customer acquisition and revenue.Monitor pricing strategies and adjust as needed to remain competitive.Customer Service:Foster a positive customer experience throughout the moving process, from initial contact to delivery.Address customer complaints promptly and professionally, implementing solutions to ensure satisfaction.Maintain high standards of quality control to minimize damage claims.Staff Management:Recruit, hire, and train new moving and warehouse staff, ensuring proper safety procedures are understood.Provide ongoing performance evaluations and coaching to employees.Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and compliance with company policies.Compliance and Safety:Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to moving and storage operations, including safety standards.Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and facilities, addressing any potential hazards.Implement and maintain safety training programs for all staff.Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in a leadership role within the moving and storage industryStrong organizational and planning skills to manage complex moving schedulesExcellent customer service skills to build rapport with clients and resolve issuesAbility to manage budgets and financial reportingStrong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and customer interactionsProficiency in inventory management systems and technologyEducation

Bachelor's degree requiredThe location is not limited to Bridgeport, Connecticut. This company has terminals located along the East Coast.
