Practice Setting
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient care at a Texas-based healthcare facility
- APPs and fellows work closely with faculty
- Assigned RN and MA for support
- EPIC System with AI Scribe (DAX Copilot & Ambient AI): Facility uses AI to auto-generate notes and charges from patient encounters, requiring only physician co-signature-saving valuable charting time
Schedule Details
- Monday through Sunday, open to 7 on/7 off
- Scheduled hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Very light night back-up call
- 7 faculty members rotate every 2 weeks for coverage, alternating between inpatient and outpatient services
Cases and Procedures
- Case types are 60% hematology, 40% oncology (more consultative service)
- Acute leukemia cases are transferred out
- Involved in teaching and mentoring fellows
- No bone marrow transplants, but biopsies are required
Qualifications
- Board-certified in Hematology/Oncology
- Texas medical license or interstate medical license
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
