What You'll Do:
Shift: Contingent
Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, specializing in cardiac procedures and interventions.
Assist physicians in managing cardiac patients, including direct care in cardiac catheterization/interventional labs and other procedures.
Administer cardiac medications and maintain sterile fields during procedures.
Manage blood samples for Point of Care (POC) testing and monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation.
Maintain proficiency in radiographic and angiographic imaging techniques and uphold radiation safety standards.
Collaborate with interventional radiology technologists on medical documentation, departmental policies, ACC reporting, inventory management, and quality control.
Monitor and record electrocardiographic and hemodynamic data accurately.
Educate patients and their families on relevant health information promptly and provide written materials as needed.
Contribute to quality nursing care through participation in performance improvement initiatives.
Accept accountability for professional practice and development, adhering to nursing practice standards and hospital policies.
Demonstrate Memorial’s core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service in daily interactions.
Respond to emergencies outside regular hours and participate in on-call shifts for emergency cases in the Cath Lab.
Attend mandatory education sessions, in-services, and maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
What You'll Bring:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN registration in the State of Ohio.
Minimum of 3 years of critical care experience; Cath Lab experience preferred.
Active RN license in the State of Ohio; meets continuing education requirements (24 contact hours every two years).
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of employment and maintained bi-annually.
Strong critical thinking and assessment skills, with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams.
Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and professional integrity.
Reliable attendance and willingness to respond promptly to emergency situations.
Positive professional demeanor and appearance.
