Unit Description:
The Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Nurse leads and promotes Clinical Quality Improvement and Patient Safety efforts throughout the organization. Supports and promotes safe and high quality patient care through systematic, coordinated and continuous approach to improvement. The Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Nurse works collaboratively with physicians, organization leaders and staff to identify and enhance patient safety practices.
Qualifications:
-5 years relevant work experience in clinical healthcare.
-Quality Registered Nurse with Vermont license, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
-Current certification in Patient Safety preferred; required within 2 years of employment Understanding of CAH and other regulatory standards in healthcare preferred.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Strong interpersonal, and interdepartmental relational skills.
-Ability to successfully manage unpredictable and rapidly changing work environments
-Ability to provide mentorship and guidance in improving organizational performance, and promoting patient safety initiatives.
-Experience with performance improvement methods and tools, group facilitation, project management.
-Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, with strong software use capabilities.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
On-call: Not required
