Description
The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality nursing care according to the Department of Nursing's philosophy and goals.
Utilizing Managers Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and Client professional nursing practice model, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to their care.
Care is provided according to the patient's specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
The RN shall be considered competent when they consistently demonstrate the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.
The RN provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of Relationship Based Care.
Assesses patient physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis and formulates a nursing diagnosis through observation of the client's physical condition and behavior.
Formulates a care plan in collaboration with the client, which ensures that direct and indirect nursing care services provide for the client's safety, comfort, hygiene, and protection.
Performs skills essential to the kind of nursing action to be taken and explains the health treatment to the client and family.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan through observation of the client's physical condition and behavior and modifies the plan as needed.
Demonstrates a current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
Delegates tasks to care team members based on their legal scopes of practice and effectively supervises nursing care being given by the care team.
Acts as the client's advocate by initiating action to improve healthcare or to change decisions or activities that are against the interests or wishes of the client.
Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Acts as a liaison in coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have triage experience.
Department is on AWS.
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
Associate Degree or BSN accepted.
Experience
Minimum acute care three years (3) experience required.
Required
