COMPENSATION: Starting at $36.60, based on experience

Infusion and Oncology Nurse Supervisor

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Infusion and Oncology Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and operations within an oncology unit or department. This role involves ensuring high-quality patient care, coordinating staff activities, managing resources, and providing support and guidance to nursing personnel. The supervisor plays a key role in developing protocols and policies to enhance patient care and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise nursing staff in department, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for infusion and clinic settings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Mckenzie Health.
Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment for cancer.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement best practices to improve care quality.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor key performance indicators.
Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff on oncology best practices, new treatments, and advancements in patient care. Facilitate continuing education opportunities.
Work closely with physicians, nurse navigators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans for patients.
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to address patient needs.
Address concerns and questions from patients and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources throughout their treatment journey.
Assist in managing departmental budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
Optimize resource allocation to enhance patient care while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Ensure staff are trained and prepared for emergency situations, implementing protocols for crisis management as needed.

In-depth knowledge of oncology nursing practices and treatment protocols.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree in nursing or healthcare administration preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with a strong background in oncology preferred. Prior supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current registered nurse licensure in state of North Dakota
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or similar certification is advantageous.
