Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Rapid City, South Dakota
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This challenging and rewarding position offers an opportunity to provide exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care for adults with diverse diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, and more
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 on both day and night shifts
- Perform cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV starts
- Administer blood products and manage various medical interventions including CIWA, drain/tube management, and insulin drips
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and conduct thorough physical assessments
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to a team nursing model
- Float to other adult inpatient units as needed, including ICU (for qualified candidates)
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota
- Minimum of 1 year PCU experience (1.5 years preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system (preferred)
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, vasoactive medications, and critical care procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability and positive attitude essential
