LHH Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Paralegal with a strong background in Workers' Compensation for our client based in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case management, legal research, and document preparation.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct thorough investigations and gather relevant evidence to support workers' compensation claims.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Prepare and summarize medical records, employment records, and other relevant documents.
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and presentations.
- Monitor and manage deadlines to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on workers' compensation cases.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
