Position Overview: As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and assisting with research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include performing experimental procedures, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with data analysis. This is a hands-on position that requires a solid foundation in biochemistry and chemistry, along with the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct protein purification experiments using a variety of techniques (e.g., affinity chromatography, gel filtration, ion exchange).
- Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, buffers, and solutions.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, data collection, and documentation of experimental procedures.
- Collaborate with the research team to analyze experimental data, and maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Support bioinformatics and computational tasks, including data analysis and processing.
- Contribute to the development of new experimental protocols and techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience gained through undergraduate research lab or industry/academia internships or roles.
- Solid understanding of protein purification techniques.
- Strong laboratory skills with an ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document and present findings clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for data analysis and computational tasks.
- Exposure to computational modeling, machine learning, or bioinformatics databases would be a plus.
- Previous experience in an industry research environment is a plus.
