Ashton North's Manufacturing Client, a global leader in quality and innovation, which are designed, engineered, and produced in the Pacific Northwest. The company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee cost accounting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate financial reporting for a U.S. publicly traded company. A deep understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards, financial planning, and audit management is essential for this role.

The Financial Controller will manage accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate book closing, financial reporting, and budget adherence. Acting as a strategic partner to the President, the role includes conducting Gemba walks to identify Muda and recommend improvements. The Controller will lead team development while fostering a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities also encompass capital investment analysis, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations to support business growth.

Ideal candidates will have strong financial acumen, hands-on experience in accounting and finance, and a results-oriented, data-driven approach to decision-making. Leadership skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities are critical. As Middleby scales globally, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in team leadership, maintaining financial health, ensuring compliance, and driving financial excellence.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as a key business partner to the executive leadership, providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions. Lead company efforts to plan and optimize the organization's financial performance. Lead and manage the accounting team and all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to all relevant stakeholders while maintaining an environment of internal controls to minimize risk of a material misstatement, fraud, or audit deficiency. Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the company compared to budget / forecast and implement changes to improve results. Manage inventory accounting processes, including monitoring of E&O inventory and related reserve calculations. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce operating expenses and improve gross margins. Provide strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive profitable growth. Lead financial audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and challenges. Develop a standard management dashboard, codify and automate it. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Progressive experience up to a Controller equivalent position strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, US GAAP, and corporate reporting. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Excellent understanding of financial reporting, budget management, and forecasting. Proven ability to lead and manage an accounting team effectively. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with the ability to serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership. Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change quickly.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in a mid-size growing manufacturing company. Big 4 accounting experience desired Familiarity with infor ERP systems specific to manufacturing. Demonstrated success in reducing operational expenses and increasing profitability. Travel:

Infrequent domestic and international travel is required as necessary to perform essential job functions.
