Description
The School of Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology invites those with potential for excellence in research and teaching to apply for consideration as an Assistant Professor in Political Science. This position is a continuing, tenure track, 9-month appointment to start August 12, 2025. Tenure will be housed in the School of Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology.

The target salary offer for this position is $75,006 annually at full time. Actual salary for part-time appointments will be prorated based on the percentage FTE of the appointment.
Examples of Duties
The selected candidate will participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, engage in scholarly research, and provide School/University service appropriate to their academic rank.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Political Science, Government, or International Relations by date of hire. Specialization in International Relations and Quantitative Methods. In addition to the degree requirement, applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. A potential to develop a strong program of individual scholarship
2. Evidence of an active research agenda.
3. Demonstrated ability to teach International Relations
4. Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds such as racial and ethnic minorities, women, individuals who identify as LGBT+, individuals with disabilities, individuals from lower income backgrounds, and/or first-generation or otherwise underserved college students.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who have a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publication in International Relations and Political Science. Candidates who are prepared to teach quantitative methods at the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates who are prepared to direct PhD students in International Relations.
