Meat clerks are responsible for keeping the pre-packaged meat section well stocked and orderly in appearance. Meat clerks will order and unload product, stock shelves and build displays; as required. Meat clerks will maintain a clean work area, follow all safety rules and perform other tasks as assigned. Other tasks to be performed may be in a meat prep area. They must be familiar with store products and their locations in order to assist customers.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age.
Previous experience in a meat department or similar role is advantageous.
Knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and safety procedures helpful.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
The job typically requires exposure to cold temperatures in meat storage areas.
