Description The ideal candidate can expect to teach a variety of course offerings in the department including majors and non-majors, general education and Anatomy & Physiology. A variety of teaching modalities are offered including online, blended, FLEX and in-person instruction. Experience teaching diverse students at various levels of college-preparedness and non-traditional students is highly desirable.
Typical Qualifications - Master's degree in Biology or the equivalent in Biology or a related field.
- 2 years previous teaching experience in higher education, community college preferred.
- Experience with the use of instructional technology.
- Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in ability, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
Supplemental Information PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Doctorate in a biological field.
- Experience with development and delivery of instruction in a variety of modes (online, blended, FLEX) and learning management systems, including D2L-Brightspace.
- Experience with development, assessment and revision of curriculum.
- Experience with outcomes assessment, data collection, and analysis.
- Previous experience teaching Majors Biology.
- College level teaching experience in biological sciences with emphasis in laboratory methods and equipment typically used in the discipline.
STATUS/SALARY: This is a regular full-time faculty position with salary to be determined by placement on the faculty salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. This is a 9 month position that includes the following employee benefits: $14,800 Annual Flexible Health Benefit, 12 Medical and 3 Personal Days Earned within First Year of Employment and 11 Holidays.
