*Due to the nature of duties, students are ineligible for applying to this role.
Reporting to the Director of Academic Support Services, the Exam Proctor will assist in providing professional, consistent and secure testing services to TJC students. In order to provide an efficient and courteous work environment, the Exam Proctor must be able to work and interact well with students, staff and faculty. This position will have a set schedule but will change during peak exam times such as final exams. Flexibility will be needed on occasion. The Center for Academic Exams is open on Saturday in addition to Monday-Friday.
Essential Functions and Duties
Primary Responsibilities
  • Enforce testing policies and procedures firmly but courteously.
  • Monitor student's testing sessions.
  • Returning completed academic tests to instructors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the testing rooms.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred
  • Associates degree or higher
  • Experience working in a community college or university environment
  • Proctor experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
  • High volume, variable work demands and deadlines impose strain on routine basis or considerable stress intermittently, or regular direct contact with distressed individuals within the work environment and/or exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Effort & Exertion
  • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs and stand for up to an hour or more as needed.
  • Must be able to easily navigate testing areas to administer exams and serve test takers.
  • Moderate: moderate physical exertion required by intermittent periods of frequent walking or standing.
Work Schedule
  • Primary shifts on evenings and weekends. Flexible on Friday shifts.

RETIREMENT
Part-Time Retirement

Part-time employees are required to participate in the part-time retirement fund. The retirement fund is invested in a group fixed annuity contract with Ohio National Life Insurance Company. The plan will provide you and your beneficiary with fully vested cash settlement or income benefits after termination of employment for any reason.

Employee and immediate family use of the Apache Recreation Center - an indoor weight and exercise center, 18-hole disc golf course, covered basketball course, and outdoor ping-pong table and cornhole. The cost is $5 per ID.
