Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Preferred candidates will have five or more years of experience and Professional Engineer licensure (or the ability to obtain one).
Position Summary
The College of Engineering wishes to appoint a Senior Resilience Engineer to support funded research and implementation projects in natural infrastructure and nature-based solutions. This position will be under the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS). The successful incumbent will join a multidisciplinary team engaged in collaborations with various partners.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Supervise research, development, and outreach focused on natural infrastructure systems (25%)
- Lead natural infrastructure engineering design team for external practitioner partnerships (25%)
- Co-develop and deliver natural infrastructure training and workforce development (15%)
- Connect Engineering-With-Nature lessons to training opportunities (15%)
- Co-author journal manuscripts and other written resources (10%)
- Communicate regularly with project PIs regarding research and operational issues (10%)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Strong knowledge in natural infrastructure, resilient infrastructure engineering design, CAD/Civil3D, GIS, hydraulic modeling, and hydrologic modeling of watershed, river, and/or coastal systems.
