Responsibilities

  1. This initiative will consolidate multiple, duplicative stores of high-volume trading data into a single logical construct with a well-defined data model, availability guarantees, and a governance program to manage changes and access requests.
  2. This will directly result in significant infrastructure savings; it will provide single-point access to Equities trading data for all consumers, greatly simplifying the current data architecture, eliminating redundant data feed, and reducing the existing risk caused by using multiple versions of the truth.
  3. The architect will have frequent interaction with the business consumers of this data, particularly in NYC, which generates by far the highest volumes of data and many complex patterns of consumption.
  4. The candidate will be part of the client world-class IT team and advance the state-of-the-art in trading applications ranging from pricing to order management to algorithmic trading to market connectivity. Client work spans all product lines in the Equities space, each with its own unique challenges and opportunities.
  5. As a kick-off assignment, the successful candidate will work with a data modeling BA to design a single, comprehensive data repository that encompasses all product flows. This repository must support traditional query approaches as well as advanced machine-learning techniques.
  6. The candidate will work broadly across the Equities lines of business to actively identify important data problems and incorporate solutions into the repository.
  7. The ultimate goal of this assignment will be to build a central, cloud-based repository of all Equities trading data that is capable of supporting a variety of needs from streaming analytics to algorithm backtesting to monitoring to regulatory reporting to archival.
  8. Additional responsibilities will include presenting solution proposals, securing approval from stakeholders, and working with the data modeling BA to ensure business objectives are met in all solution design.
