Overview
The Scientific Applications Specialist provides technical field support for existing and new products of VisualSonics and its ultra high frequency ultrasound and photoacoustic technology. The Applications Specialist role is to be a subject matter expert in preclinical ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging. They will demonstrate the value of VisualSonics products through successful sales demonstrations, customer education and training.
This is a US based travel position; however, some international travel may be required.
Successful candidates will be currently located in the US near any major airport.

Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Pre-Sales Demonstrations
- Provide pre-sales demonstrations of high-resolution ultrasound and photoacoustic equipment, highlighting research-specific applications for prospective customers.
- Travel to and participate in trade shows, conferences, and workshops as a subject matter expert on high-resolution ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging techniques and applications, showcasing the value and functionality of VisualSonics products.
Customer Success
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers on the use of newly acquired equipment, both at our Toronto-based training facility and at customer locations (travel involved).
- Offer pre-installation and post-installation application support for high-resolution ultrasound and photoacoustic equipment.
- Address and resolve customer satisfaction issues as assigned.
Presentations
- Deliver specialized and general presentations about products, applications, and new developments at customer sites, conferences, workshops, and virtually.
Product Enhancement / Development Responsibilities
- Collect and provide user feedback for product development initiatives.
- Assist in evaluating new products where applicable.
Application-related Protocols/Procedures
- Develop comprehensive procedure manuals, training protocols, and scientific documents pertaining to all VisualSonics products.
Application and Science Development
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with research labs .
- Commit to developing extensive knowledge of VisualSonics products and their applications.
Travel
- Travel approximately 65% - 75% of working time as required.
Knowledge and Experience:
Education:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in a relevant scientific discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in preclinical imaging.
- Strong technical background.
- Excellent knowledge in small animal anatomy and physiology.
- In-depth knowledge in oncology, cardiology, and neurobiology.
- Good understanding of genetics and molecular biology.
- Proficient in using imaging software and analytical tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Salary and Benefits:
- $90,000.00/year base + variable pay
