Job Description

This role is on-site 3 days per week in Sleepy Hollow, NY. A fully remote role is NOT possible for this position. This role cannot be based in Basking Ridge, NJ.

The Director of Market Access Strategy is a critical role on a fast-paced, energetic Market Access team. This team member will be responsible for leading and assisting in the development and implementation of market access strategies across key segments of our business including: the payer account team, field reimbursement managers, and sales. Primary responsibilities consist of leading and/or assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of market access initiatives and tactics. Additionally, we expect you to maintain a high level of collaboration and integration with Brand Marketing, Training, Pricing, Trade, Market Research, and all field teams (Reimbursement, Sales, and Payer).

In this role, a typical day might include the following:

  • Leading the development of Market Access strategies and managing the execution of tactical plans aligned with Ophthalmology Market Access strategies for Payers.
  • Leading the strategic and tactical development of various field-based resources to support field-facing teams including Payer Account Directors, Reimbursement Business Managers (RBM), and Sales teams.
  • Continuously evaluating changing market and competitive dynamics to inform short and long-term strategies including but not limited to formulary positioning, contracting, pricing, and public policy.
  • Leading the management of key strategic partner relationships to ensure execution of the strategic vision and tactical goals as well as the timely completion of projects within budget.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional internal teams (Marketing, Patient Support Services, Insights and Analytics, Pricing, Public Policy & Government Affairs, Trade, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Training) as well as Payer Team, RBM Team, and Sales Field teams to help inform comprehensive market access strategies and tactical plans.
  • Strong ability to create and implement complex access strategies for payers and providers, and develop innovative payer initiatives for patients.

  • Have an excellent understanding of the US market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals.
  • Have experience in the buy and bill space.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Are proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive related pharmaceutical industry experience. 5-7+ years of experience including payer marketing, brand marketing, contracting, account management, customer-facing roles, and/or health economics.

Salary Range (annually)

$212,900.00 - $354,800.00
