Job Purpose:

This Software Engineer IV role is essential to support the development and maintenance of high-quality software systems aligned with organizational goals, specifically for CWCS / registration.

Location: The ideal applicant would be able to work several days a week face to face in our Tallahassee, FL office, but we are open to any qualified US-based applicant.

Must currently be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work in a team-based environment to build new solutions for our customers—your primary area of responsibility will focus on development of high performance, secure, horizontally-scalable application software for deployment to both in-house and cloud-hosted environments.
  • We are evolving our product architecture to scale horizontally. You’ll help us architect, design, implement, and test the UI, application software, and database changes required to make our solution robust/scalable.
  • You will be an important contributor in architecture, engineering design, functional design & testing activities, from requirements analysis and prototype development through test automation.
  • You will be an escalation point for field issues. You will investigate issues, design & estimate solutions, and implement them in compliance with our software life cycle processes.
  • To do all of this, you are going to learn a lot about our application architecture, eventually becoming an expert who owns a portion of the application stack from an engineering perspective.
  • As a level IV software engineer, from time to time, you may be called upon to lead a cross-functional effort from an engineering, architecture, or security perspective. You’ll work well across departments, ensuring coordination, shaping requirements to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in software development of product software for resale, preferably in US Healthcare Revenue Cycle.
  • Very strong C#, .NET, SQL, Angular skills, at least 5 years’ experience in software development using these languages.
  • Experience with modern cloud-hosting solutions—Azure or AWS.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer company drug screen and background investigation.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a part of a small, agile software development team.
  • Ideally, has experience working in the US Healthcare industry (e.g. physician billing, medical records, HIM, etc).
  • Ideally, you have experience developing software for a product with a similar architecture to ours—Web UI, RESTful Web API, .NET middle tier, ORM, SQL back end.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
