The position is a Hybrid work schedule requiring all candidates to reside in the Andover, MA area.

The Opportunity:

This position supports the AVP and General Counsel of a large and growing renewable energy company, providing legal advice and support on various legal issues including with an emphasis on contract negotiation, commercial support, mergers and acquisitions, corporate issues, litigation and financial transactions.

What You'll Do at Enel North America:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Negotiate large complex commercial procurement contracts.
  2. Become fluent in all legal aspects of developing, owning and operating renewable energy generation projects, including wind, solar, hydro and geothermal.
  3. Partner with business development, corporate, finance, engineering and operations teams to ensure that legal needs are adequately met.
  4. Advise management and employees on a wide range of legal issues, such as corporate law, contracts, litigation, insurance, development and finance issues.
  5. Assist in the negotiation and drafting of mergers and acquisitions and other large scale transactions.
  6. Develop and implement preventive law strategies to help minimize litigation, third party disputes and other potential legal and business problems and issues.
  7. Provide direction to functional groups with respect to legal issues and risks.
  8. Interpret and explain legal requirements and assist the organization with compliance with statutes, regulations and industry rules.
  9. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally on occasion.
  10. Ability to read and speak Italian or Spanish a plus but not required.

What You've Accomplished:

Requirements:

  1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required.
  2. 6+ years of legal experience practicing in a broad range of activities.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and commercial legal advice and recommendations.
  4. Energy, Renewables or Utilities background required.
  5. M&A experience required.

Candidate must work a hybrid schedule from the Andover, MA office.
