The Role
The Lumen Cyber Defense Cloud Services team is looking for an experienced engineer to lead in the arena of multicloud centralized management. We need your skills to help research, understand, and identify emerging trends that are at the forefront of today’s cybersecurity industry.
We are searching for a Lead Engineer that has broad knowledge of AWS and Azure, with a desire to learn even more. You will help us stay on top of Lumen's Cloud Transformation initiatives and guide detailed plans to completion. The Main Responsibilities
- Administration of Cloud Service platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP etc.), including the central identity provider, Entra ID.
- Develop custom automation to enforce standards and compliance.
- Support customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.
- Perform analysis, design, and development of custom correlation rules, reports, and dashboards.
- Analyze performance and overall health of the multicloud platform.
- Design, develop, engineer, and implement solutions that meet security requirements.
- Analyze general information assurance-related technical problems and provide basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
- Technology escalation point for all multicloud initiatives and underlying components.
- Manage cloud tenancies and work to consolidate holdings.
- Meet operational and security goals utilizing cloud products and technologies.
- Assess existing multicloud platform and identify key system flaws and areas of improvement.
- Perform semi-annual assessment of configuration and custom content.
- Develop detailed supporting documentation regarding technical projects (such as materials to support an architecture review board).
- Manage customer expectations and attend all mandatory review/regulatory discussions related to the specific project being delivered.
- Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Typically 8+ years of IT Security experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience; 6+ years of IT Security experience with Master’s Degree.
- Expert level understanding of Enterprise Cloud Operations models and Cloud Adoption Frameworks.
- Expert in one of the following cloud service platforms: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
- Expert in cloud identity and security controls.
- Experience developing logical operations and cloud automation (JSON, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience configuring Single Sign On with any IDP, with an emphasis on an understanding of AuthN/AuthZ (OIDC, OAUTH, SAML).
- Exposure to CICD pipeline design with knowledge of the underlying architecture, including deployment methods (Terraform).
- Exposure to FedRAMP or similar security controls.
- GSA Background Check will be required.
- Must operate within CONUS.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
- $103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
- $108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
- $114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
