Job Description

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team. The selected engineer will monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. The engineer will also assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.

Duties

1. Establishes a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
2. Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
3. Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
4. Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
5. Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
6. Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
7. Ensures that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure.
8. This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
9. Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
10. Ensures system security needs are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.
11. Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features, and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.
12. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence, and other government organizations and agencies.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

1. Requires a BS and 5+ years of experience OR Masters and 3+ years; 4 years additional experience may be considered in lieu of a BS degree.
2. Requires an active TS/SCI clearance.
3. IAT Level III Certification required.
4. Experience with cybersecurity related to enterprise-wide systems.
5. Design and integration experience with cybersecurity, both systems and networks.
