Overview of the Director of Accounting role: • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in compliance with GAAP • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closes • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement • Ensure compliance with all financial laws, tax regulations, and industry accounting standards • Develop, implement, and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies for audits and financial reviews • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement • Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and training programs for staff development • Promote collaboration between accounting and other departments to enhance financial processes • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in financial operations • Implement and optimize accounting systems and financial reporting tools • Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance accounting operations

Preferred qualifications for the Director of Accounting: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
