Shipping & Receiving Clerk Job position for our
Tacoma, WA location. Reporting into the
Logistics Coordinator , this position will work with the Shipping Coordinator and other shipping personnel to make sure all materials are received and shipped on time and in an orderly manner.
Shipping & Receiving Clerk Job Responsibilities: - Read shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
- Check the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
- Remain current on all schedules for all production lines
- Help to determine space requirements and position of shipment in and trucks
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or advises supervisor so that an outside service facility can make repairs
- Compiles records of unfilled orders
- Posts weight and shipping charges
- Prepares bills of lading
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Keeps walkways, plant entrances, and loading dock free from debris
- Responsible for all off-line sheeting
- Coordinates the hazardous waste area as well as the documentation and shipment of all hazardous waste
- Works closely with shipping supervisor and accounting department in the coordination of inventory control management
- Helps to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Attends all required safety training and works in a safe manner while performing duties of the job
Shipping & Receiving Clerk Job Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience and/or training within manufacturing
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be forklift certified
- Employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
