Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to join our meat department as a key contributor to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring high-quality products, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Maintaining a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.
Maximizing sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
Providing excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
Maintaining or ensuring maintenance of a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
Ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing, and immediately reporting safety hazards and violations.
Performing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
Key Skills
Able to sell proactively and have the ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness, and read labels and familiarize oneself on various products.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals.
Possess good communication skills to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a wet and cold environment.
Work Environment
Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
