Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) Division is on the hunt for a dynamic and innovative Senior Engineer for the Electric Rope Shovel team. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of heavy machinery!

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing concepts and projects while integrating designs and technologies onto the Electric Rope Shovel platform. As a member of the Electric Rope Shovel and Dragline team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture.

What you will do:

  1. Research and develop design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications for new products and aftermarket solutions.
  2. Partner and collaborate with multifunctional teams to architect, execute, configure, and integrate new products, components, and technologies into our machines.
  3. Take charge and help lead product design evolution, project planning, and project execution for critical ERS projects.

What skills you will have:

  1. Planning: Extensive experience in NPI project execution. Ability to monitor progress, cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
  2. Systems Thinking: Machine design expertise. Extensive experience with 3D solid modeling software preferably Creo. Ability to facilitate and oversee the creation of engineering designs from other teams, integrate and configure the designs into the ERS machine platform.
  3. Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the appropriate communication method. Develops and maintains partnerships with external professional teams to optimize the product design structure.
  4. Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and the ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  5. Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these
