Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Lead Software Engineer at its facility located at 5205 N. O'Connor Boulevard, Suite 100, Irving, TX 75039.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understanding business requirements for new features implemented within the eCommerce platform (Parts.cat.com and Shop.cat.com).
2. Working with business analysts to gather and refine business requirements and recommend changes that could impact business.
3. Performing programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision.
4. Preparing technical design documents based on business requirements.
5. Designing and building new features on HCL Commerce, leveraging out-of-the-box components and extending/customizing where necessary to meet business needs.
6. Identifying and resolving complex application/technical problems, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
7. Leading development and unit/integration testing of new features for the scrum team.
8. Performing code reviews, conducting performance assessments, and engaging in architecture discussions.
9. Supporting the QA team for release quality assurance and fixing issues that arise from testing.
10. Independently working on complex systems or infrastructure components.
11. Indirectly overseeing a pod of four scrum teams to ensure overall code quality and velocity.
12. Mentoring and assisting senior software engineers and providing technical assistance and direction as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field, and eight (8) years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with:

1. 8 years of HCL Commerce (previously WCS) software engineering.
2. 8 years of leading other software engineers/developers.
3. 5 years of leading technical team members as their supervisor or manager.
4. 8 years in Java and J2EE software engineering.
5. 5 years in Agile scrum methodology.

Telecommuting Allowed.

Summary Pay Range:

$149,781.00 - $204,720.00
