Job Description
PL/SQL DEVELOPER

The Senior Database Developer will perform advanced analysis and development work involving all aspects of supporting, improving, and enhancing and optimizing the database performance for a large project. This position requires strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL experience, along with extensive experience in performance tuning of stored procs and views. The developer will also devise approaches to solving complex problems, provide thought leadership, and provide ongoing updates on project status. This position works for section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). Work assignments follow a defined software development life cycle (SDLC) process using an Agile-like approach for completing code changes for defined releases. This role works across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of created reports, in the service of Texas’s 1200 school districts.

II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements: Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Expertise working with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (advanced concepts such as bulk collect, handling data in JSON/X 7 Required Expertise with writing complex Oracle queries and optimizing them to reduce SGA/PGA/TempSpace usage 7 Required Documentation 7 Required Dev/Unit Testing 7 Required Agile Development 4 Required Proficient in storing, querying, manipulating JSON data in Oracle database tables 4 Required Proficient in creating complex queries and views using data stored in JSON format 4 Required Optimizing performance of stored procs and views accessing data stored in JSON format

Position Details: Pay Rate / Range: $44- $55hr

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
