Perform all duties of a Junior Technical Writer.
Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form for a wide audience.
Write technical copy for various types of documents for programs/projects of similar complexity.
Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information, consultations, and other sources.
Produce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation for DoD electronic equipment and systems.
Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings and operational procedures.
Apply technical manual standard NSA DS-89 to work products.
Provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing for all phases of acquisition and technical documentation.
Independently prepare and maintain highly complex systems, programming, and operations documentation.
Act as project leader for projects with complex or voluminous documentation.
Review work products of others for compliance with technical manual NSA Data Standard (DS)-89.
Demonstrate attention to detail, poise with grammar and its application, and interpretation of technical terminology during meetings and planning sessions.
Orient oneself and maintain situational awareness of an IT environment, identifying differentiating factors and technical terms relevant to building next-generation IT services.
Requirements
Six (6) years of experience as a TW in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity required.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university required.
Additional four (4) years of TW experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
