Technical Support Engineer - Software Our client's patented software platform is in very high demand by their strategic partners and as a result, they are experiencing unprecedented growth. A variety of technologies are involved including high-performance software, security, data storage and archiving, data analytics, data corruption detection, machine learning, etc. As the company experiences this period of growth, we are looking for talented individuals who are motivated by overcoming difficult technical challenges in a collaborative environment to join the team. Ideal candidates for these positions will have experience in software technical support for external partners and customers (this is NOT desktop support or systems administration), solving software related issues by taking deep dives into file logs, have knowledge of Linux OS and Linux commands and outstanding interpersonal skills. Experience with Cyber Security/Recovery and/or data backup is a big plus. Some nights or time on weekends will be needed as per customer demand.

Responsibilities include: - Provide post-sale technical support, solving complex software issues, primarily by using logs and diagnostic reports to troubleshoot functional and performance issues
- Communicate findings and case status internally to engineering and externally to partners
- Perform deep dives into log files and reports from partners and provide solutions
- Work with QA and development resources to prioritize, debug and deliver fixes to partners and occasionally to end customers. Provide partner and customer feedback to product teams.
- Interface with in-house engineers and world-renowned technical partners
- Some involvement with product installation, deployment and implementation support and hardware
Requirements - Experience providing software problem solving and support. Preferred experience with complex, high-performance multi-threaded applications (these are mainly written in C language, some Python)
- Knowledge of Linux OS and Linux commands
- Experience digging into log files and reports to come up with solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team learning and growing together
- AS/BS degree in Computer Science or related field and several years of related experience
- Experience with backup software/technology or security is a plus.
- The ability and desire to learn the software and become expert.
- Familiarity with server hardware and networking is a plus.
- Desire to learn new technologies and be part of a team
- Qualified candidates will more than likely have worked for a company that develops and sells software.
- Need to have solid customer software technical support experience (not desktop or network support).
- Must be able to go into office in Holmdel, NJ up to 5 days per week and be flexible to work some early and later hours as needed.
