Controller

Job Summary:

The Controller of US Division is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the accounting department, including timely preparation and presentation of financial information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting practices and business policies. This position works closely with the Corporate team on payroll, tax, and financial reporting matters, and collaborates with the financial leaders from our global offices to drive continuous improvement within our NetSuite environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervises the accounting team and manages accounting operations for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepares internal financial statements.
  • Works closely with FP&A team and management for budgeting and forecasting needs.
  • Identifies, develops, and monitors department KPIs.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Oversees external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including but not limited to -Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sales and Use Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Goods and Services Taxes (GST), where applicable.
  • Evaluates and assists with selection of software solutions which impact local and global financial operations.
  • Spearheads development, implementation and optimization of processes such as financial data collection and month-end close.
  • Works with Finance Director to understand the long-term planning for the business products and growth opportunities.
  • Researches tax and regulatory requirements in new territories being considered for holding events and provides company leaders with insight for decision-making purposes.
  • Creates strategic plans for financial operations and department resources that align with short term and long-term needs of the business.
  • Oversees due diligence activities and integration process related to acquisitions.
