Civil Engineer - Land Development to join our
Commercial & Institional - Land Development Team at our office from
Syracuse, NY.YOUR IMPACTEffective land development projects hinge on collaborative efforts between developers, regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, consultants, and local review boards. At the outset of a project, CHA prioritizes a comprehensive assessment of its impact on the entire community, accounting for all moving parts. We then skillfully execute development to enhance traffic, stormwater drainage, water quality, sanitary services and the built environment.
Working alongside CHA's professional engineers, the Civil Engineer - Land Development supports the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of technical various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. This professional aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The individual in this role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
Additionally, the Civil Engineer - Land Development identifies technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections. This individual develops and maintains a familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the firm's and client's practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of related Engineering experience required
- Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, etc.)
- Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
- Familiar with QA/QC procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
- Ability to travel (local site visits)
