Are you ready for your next career challenge' The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has opening for a Systems Administrator to work out of the San Diego office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the PEO IWS 5 program mission. In this mission, we are responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of ASW Virtual Operator Trainer (VOT) systems, including associated hardware. Responsibilities may include management of systems infrastructures, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, BOM generation, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure, and ensuring the VOT infrastructure is within US Navy Cyber Security standards. Duties may also include providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating/recommending new upgrades to enhance current capabilities, and performing PEO IWS5 needs assessments. Support duties may also include updating and supporting the VOTs via annual technical hardware refreshes, assisting in continuous virtualization efforts, implementing critical system patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues, and leading a small team during ASW VOT buildouts and construction. Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year, potentially internationally and on short notice for customer meetings and VOT Support.

Primary Responsibilities- As part of the Training Systems Engineering Team (TSET), you will develop hardware and software solutions for IWS5 customer needs, to include Configuration Management (CM) practices, tools & techniques, and US Navy Cyber Security requirements.
- As part of TSET, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, developing, and testing application hardware and software to support PEO IWS 5 customer training needs, specifically ASW VOTs.
- Support the planning, management, and logistical activities associated with system development.
- Lead a team in the development of documentation of past and future VOT system procedures, specifications, capabilities, general & physical description, and virtualization efforts.
Basic Qualifications- Requires a BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 + years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience virtualizing and maintaining complex legacy hardware and network infrastructure, with KVM/Libvirt and Open vSwitch.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) level of knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Strong software scripting skills, specific with Ansible, Python, and BASH.
- Ability to perform listed responsibilities in an offline and secured environment using a limited development environment, as well as specific tools such as Podman, Git, and other offline repository development tools.
- Leads a small and highly specialized team in day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
- Experience with reverse engineering undocumented products.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year, potentially internationally and on short notice for customer meetings and VOT Support.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 ACB-11,13,15,17,19 sensor suite.
- Experience with AN/UYQ-100 Under Sea Warfare Decision Support System.
- 3 years experience with ASW VOT hardware installs and troubleshooting.
- Experience in COMS team management and trouble ticket help desk resolution.

Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
