Golin is looking for a detail-oriented mid-level Senior Manager to join the Issues and Crisisteam responsible for supporting the world's largest retailer. In this role, you will help lead our brand safety team and create measurements for social media policies and guidelines related to influencer brand partnerships.
You will interact with clients and contribute to developing strategic guidelines and policies for influencer vetting programs. Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, familiar with social media community guidelines, and can provide counsel on ways to safely navigate current events, including the political and cultural landscapes. Please note: Preferred location is Chicago; however, we are open to considering qualified candidates near other Golin office locations, especially Dallas, TX. What You'll Do:- Responsible for planning and managing the delivery of influencer vetting services, acting as a decision-maker for complex issues.
- You will oversee risk assessments and ensure the vetting team correctly identifies potential red flags associated with an influencer, such as past controversies, problematic content, or inauthentic engagement practices.
- You will help safeguard the client's brand reputation by providing oversight and guidance for the vetting of potential partnerships.
- Lead, develop and motivate team, protecting and promoting wellbeing and upholding brand safety standards.
Qualifications:- 5+ years' experience in an agency or in-house communications position.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills with proven ability to write clearly and cohesively.
- Comfort and confidence in working calmly in high-pressure, high-leverage situations and addressing sensitive subject matters.
- Social savvy with an understanding of how issues develop across digital.
- Experience leading the development of communications on behalf of a client or company confronted with a reputation-threatening issue and providing counsel to these entities based on associated brand reputation risks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience mentoring and growing junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:- Understanding of best practices and user dynamics and expectations for social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X and TikTok.
- Curiosity about what constitutes and drives news, social media engagement and broader public interest.
- Current on influencer brand safety best practices, legal requirements, and emerging social media platforms.
- Familiarity with influencer networks and influencer identification, management, and measurement tools.
- Experience serving as part of an on-call rotation, or as an after-hours contact for a high-profile brand.

Salary range: $70,000 - $130,000
Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
