Materials ManagerYOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Job Summary:This position is in Reading, PA and is responsible for managing the BNEProcurement and Materials Management team. The team is comprised of 7-8individuals who are responsible for regional purchasing and product inventorylevels in all Brenntag Northeast locations.
Job Description: - Oversees the Materials Management functions (Inventory Control, Procurement)
- Creates and drives the Inventory Management strategy across all BNE warehouses.
- Oversees transactions initiated by the team to optimize inventory levels and maximize turns while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Monitors slow-moving and aging inventory. Coordinates campaigns with the Sales team for moving specific products when necessary. Coaches team on delaying or cancelling POs when needed.
- Monitors and strives to minimize/eliminate demurrage costs. Tracks all railcars in BNE's possession across all warehouses.
- Implements clear triggers for action when demurrage costs are expected.
- Team development - evaluates team members' strengths and gaps, develops and tracks benchmarks/KPIs, assesses performance, coordinates training, etc. to maximize team efficiency and effectiveness
- Strives to minimize/eliminate concessions caused by actions under Materials Management team's control

YOUR PROFILE Education and Experience: - Graduate of an accredited four (4) year college or university preferred
- Experience in Procurement, Product Management, Supply Chain or equivalent roles required
- Proficiency in MS Excel, BUS and Qlik.
- Data mining or data analysis experience is a plus
- Experience leadingdirect report(s) preferred
