Position Overview:
We are seeking a Fire Alarm Deputy Project Leader with design and implementation experience in technology applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in fire alarm system applications with IBC, NEC, NFPA code knowledge as it applies to fire alarm systems for facilities and plants. Candidates with Electronic Security, Industrial Controls, Building Automation systems that are willing to learn and grow in the life safety space will be considered.
The Deputy Project Leader is a training position that consists of learning how to supervise and direct the employees on a particular project, prepare strategic plans and budgets, develop a comprehensive project plan, and analyze statistical data. This position is in our Life Safety Group & will support multiple customers and project sites.
Overall candidate must be a thought leader, customer focused and command excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to plan and lead a diverse team to execute multiple contracts.
Position Responsibilities:
• Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
• Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution.
• Price, track and manage change orders.
• Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
• Maintain as-builts as work is completed.
• Document project issues/conditions.
• Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
• Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize organization and accomplish your work.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Research and compile submittals; pricing change orders and prepare estimates for partially designed projects by finishing the design and preparing a complete project estimate.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Communicate with people outside the Company, representing the Company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
• Clearly understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements.
Education & Experience Required:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSEE preferred), Construction Management or related degree with 5-7 years of experience.
• Related Construction experience with five years' working for an electrical or construction contractor.
• Experience working on construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M.
• Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
• Experience with CPM Scheduling
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on projects.
• Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver.
• Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others.
• Proficiency with Computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF.
Desired Qualifications:
• Accubid Estimating (Or equivalent) directly related to Electrical Installations.
• Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling Experience and proficiency (or equivalent).
• Ability and Willingness to Travel to project locations as needed.
