Job Description
Job Purpose:

Reporting to the First Vice President, Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager/Officer is responsible for overseeing and assisting in managing the day-to-day functions of the HR department, providing support and guidance to all areas of the Human Resources team. They will have a strong background in areas such as employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll administration, performance management, training and development, and recruitment. This is a hands-on position requiring proactive and reliable human resources advice and service.

Duties and Responsibilities/Results:

  • Manage maintenance of and serves as subject matter expert of human resource information system (HRIS)
  • Review and approve the weekly and bi-weekly payroll. Serves as backup to carry out all functions of payroll responsibilities.
  • Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross earnings, taxes, hours worked, vacation accrual, deductions, nontaxable wages, etc.).
  • Manage payroll tax related information and reviews generated reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure payroll liabilities are accurate and ensure payroll provider pays timely; address and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Manage resolution of escalated payroll discrepancies with managers and accounting staff.
  • Oversee day-to-day handling of employee-related inquiries for payroll, benefits, time off/accruals, and timesheets.
  • Analyze HR data to identify systemic issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Create new and review existing job descriptions, analyzing best practice and benchmark data both internally and externally to ensure company job design is commensurate with market and internally equitable.
  • Support compensation planning process
  • Completes timely and accurate salary surveys and analyzes results, as necessary.
  • Assist in corporate and business unit-level management and employee development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with recruitment to attract and onboard new talent.
  • Support off boarding through conducting exit interviews and providing turnover data to managers.
  • Collaborate with other HR colleagues to enhance administration of benefit plans.
  • Manage affirmative action program.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements, including those related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor regulations, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records required by law and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with People Relations to address complex employee relations issues.
  • Contribute to HR-wide initiative teams.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including HR/People Operations roles.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, payroll processing, benefits administration, recruitment and compensation practices.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with discretion, diplomacy, and tact in high-pressure settings.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and a passion for measuring results through data and metrics.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016/365.
  • Service-oriented with strong relationship-building skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/MS in related field.
  • SHRM CP or PHR certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with UKG reporting tools/BI.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel tools, such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc
  • Banking or Financial industry experience.
