SSOE is looking to hire a
Senior Architect to join our team allowing the selected individual with the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world's leading companies.
As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading projects and working with other contributing mid-senior level Architects and design teams to create exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects.
ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
- Applies sound and diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments in related fields.
- Makes independent decisions on architectural problems, practices, and methods. In the case of a licensed staff member, acting as a lead project architect, this includes but is not limited to, the stamping/sealing of one's drawings/documents as well as drawings/documents done as the professional in "responsible charge" as defined by the applicable statute of jurisdiction.
- May consult with department manager or project manager concerning unusual problems and developments.
- Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a medium to large architectural project or a number of smaller complex projects with overall responsibility for construction estimate, budget adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination.
- Responsible for solid, finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction results.
- Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project. May have liaison with individuals within and outside the firm.
- May, within own discipline, oversee the drafting effort on a project and coordinate this effort with other disciplines on the same project and, at times, may be responsible for checking a portion or all completed drawings.
- Has knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA compliance requirements, and working experience dealing with site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, methods, and general details.
- Takes an active part in client contact and business development activities and may participate in presentations.
Qualifications- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture required, with registration as a licensed architect required with two (2) or more years of experience with SSOE as an Architect 4, or a licensed architect with eight (8) or more years of related experience with former employer(s).
- Exceptions may be based upon equivalencies.
- Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position
